What is Super Smash Bros. Ultimate?

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is a brand-new instalment in the Super Smash Bros. series released in late 2017. Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is a platform fighter that is exclusively for the Nintendo Switch game console. The game is simple, up to eight characters fight it out and whoever comes out on top wins the game, it’s simple!

There are two different game modes, there is Time battle and Stock battle. Time battle is a battle that is under a timer. The way you win this type of game is to get as many knockouts in the time limit set. The person with the most knockouts wins the game. Stock battle is like time battle, but each fighter only gets a certain amount of stocks (also known as lives). Once a fighter gets knocked out, they lose a stock. Once a fighter runs out of all their stocks the match will end and the fighter with stocks remaining will win the fight.

There are over 70 characters in the game to select ranging from iconic video game characters like Mario and Sonic and some lesser known characters like Simon and Richter Belmont from the Castlevania series, Terry Bogard from the Fatal Fury series and Joker from the Persona series. The game is also getting more content too via downloadable content. Nintendo are developing Downloadable content and has been releasing them since the games original launch in late 2018.
